Also known as Columbus Filters (from Columbus Industries, Inc.), raccoglivernice© Paint Overspray Collectors or Arrestors are multilayer filters used in paint mist and Overspray Filtration, to catch and capture particulates from the exhaust air of liquid paint spray booths.
Classified as Hi-tech Paint Collectors, these baffle/strainer-type paint collectors consist of up to eight layers of slit and flame-retardant expanded kraft connected by longitudinal seams in silicone-free yarn.

This is the first principle of science that deals with overspray removal.
Paints and varnishes are more than 4,000. The overspray can be very different: dry, sticky or semi-sticky, slow or rapid drying.
Also the application technique affects the size of the overspray particles and thus the capacity of the filters to separate it from the air flow that carries it.
To face these differences Columbus Industries, Inc. produces a range of Paint Overspray Collectors which, individually or in combination, can solve most of the overspray removal problems.

- several layers overlapped and tied by sewing

In HIGH CAPACITY Paint Overspray Collector HC, “Standard” front layer is replaced by three layers of extra wide mesh expanded kraft.
These multilayer filters are suitable for one stage exhaust filtration or pre-filtration in a wide range of spray booths coatings, especially heavier, tacky-type coatings, conventional coatings and in situations requiring extended service life.

Paint Overspray Precollector PREC1 consists of flame-retardant expanded kraft layers, with final back layer “small”.
Paint Overspray Precollector is designed as a pre-filter to other types of Columbus Filters and is not normally recommended to use it alone.
Therefore no efficiency data are provided; anyway as a guide for the choice, it can be assumed that their efficiency is between 45 % ÷ 65 %.
These multilayer filters are suitable for pre-filtration with high concentrations of overspray.

Paint Overspray Precollector PREC2
Paint Overspray Precollector PREC2 consists of flame-retardant expanded kraft layers, with final back layer in mini-mesh.
Paint Overspray Precollector is designed as a pre-filter to other types of Columbus Filters and is not normally recommended to use it alone.
Therefore no efficiency data are provided; anyway as a guide for the choice, it can be assumed that their efficiency is between 50 % ÷ 70 %.
These multilayer filters are suitable for pre-filtration with high concentrations of overspray.

EUROSUPRA Paint Overspray Collector S1
EUROSUPRA Paint Overspray Collector S1 consists of five layers of slit and flame-retardant expanded kraft with multistage designed baffle openings expanded kraft combined with one layer of a duo-density singed synthetic backing (polyester fibers), which maximize high efficiency (to capture fine particles) and strength (to provide long service life).
This media was developed to meet the high-efficiency requirements of installations using many of today’s compliance coatings including high solids, waterbornes, catalyzed and bake-dry coatings. Supra l Mini-Mesh Collectors are also recommended for use on coatings with overspray which is tacky to semi-tacky as it encounters the overspray collector.
